It Doesn’t Look Good
For this week’s blog, I will talk about the future of Indian investment in Afghanistan. By now I believe, it has been established that the Afghan security is fragile. India is keen on investing and has also bagged mining contracts but is reluctant to go on with the project because of security concerns. If India starts building the mine and the Taliban comes back into power, they will lose all of their investment. This also goes for other projects that India wants to undertake. To address these concerns, one has to look at the future of Afghanistan. Pakistan sponsored terror organizations have been targeting Afghanistan and India to hinder their relationship. Several measures by both of these countries have been taken to keep their diplomatic channels open to build their relationship. As United States withdraws from Afghanistan, India has a golden ticket to establish itself in Afghanistan. India has been preparing a military package for Afghanistan and already has delivered three high power helicopters. This makes Pakistan rattle up because it does not want India to be in Afghanistan since it accuses India of using Afghanistan as a launching ground for spy missions by RAW, the Indian Intelligence Agency. All of the problems in this region are because of general distrust amongst the three countries. They have not sat down together to have constructive talks. At this rate, I believe that the future does not look bright. If United States continues to pull out and Afghanistan continues to depend on India for aid, it will definitely agitate the Pakistani
